Critical Composition:
Robie House by Frank Lloyd Wright (1909)
The goal of this project was to analyze the floor plan of a well known piece of architecture and distill the core principles that guided the experience of the building. I determined that the Robie House’s floor plan was the main generator of the building through a series of studies involving various manipulations of said floor plan.
Critical composition is
the mindful and intentional arrangement of elements concerning the vision of the Designer’s work.
